Summary
This job is open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. The primary purpose of this position is to exercise supervisory and managerial authorities over Youth Programs and provide comprehensive professional youth program consisting of a balance of well-rounded positive experiences for youth 5-18 years of age. The focus is on three components: Youth Activities, Youth Sports, and School-Age Care programs as defined in AFI 34-144.

Duties
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25 of the time. Plans organizes and directs the activities of the Youth Center ensuring that all Youth Programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Represents Youth Programs with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Responsible for the financial operation of the Youth Programs, the facilities, grounds, equipment, health, and safety. Ensures program meets established financial goals.

May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis Pre-employment physical examination with a renewal at least every three years and specified immunizations are required. lAW AFI 34-801 The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. Incumbent must possess and be able to maintain an appropriate valid drivers license. An annual driving record check is required Must complete additional training requirements as specified by program guidance and Flight Chief. Training may be conducted during weekend and evening hours Physical exertion required such as climbing steps and lifting up to 25 pounds

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. NOTE You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have at least 1 year 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01 equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in applying the professional knowledge of youth and teen development principles, practices, and techniques across various developmental stages. This includes planning, organizing, and directing youth program functions as well as mentoring, motivating, and appraising staff. Experience also covers financial budget and resource management in accordance with Air Force policies. This is coupled with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to promote programs, train staff, and resolve problems. NOTE Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Courses equivalent to a major in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position plus appropriate experience or additional coursework that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of 4-year course of study. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
Professional knowledge of youth development and school-age principles, practices, philosophy, and techniques, including health and safety requirements and child abuse identification, reporting, and prevention methods. Professional knowledge of the significant physical, emotional, social, creative, and cognitive needs of youth and teens typically present at each developmental stage and within different program environments. Knowledge of Air Force policies and procedures and their implications on youth development. Knowledge of financial budget, resource management practices and principles, and analytical and evaluative methods and techniques. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to promote and report on the program, train staff, resolve problems, and answer questions related to the developmental processes.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs, i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
