Paynesville Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supper Cook to prepare healthy and satisfying meals for our residents. A typical shift would be 10am-6:30pm. As a Supper Cook, you would be responsible in preparing resident meals from the daily menu and for special events, while overseeing the kitchen team. Attention to detail, strong communication, and maintaining safe food practices are vital to this position. In this role, you will be responsible for cooking and serving nutritious dinners that align with specific dietary requirements, ensuring food safety and quality at all times. A background check is required. Wages are based off of previous work experience and prior training. Kitchen experience preferred, no experience in healthcare is necessary, but you should be comfortable working with the elderly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain high standards.
  • Assist with kitchen cleanup after supper service.
  • Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal delivery.
  • Manage inventory and storage of supper meal ingredients as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous cooking experience, preferably in a healthcare or institutional environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Ability to follow dietary guidelines and recipes accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform kitchen duties and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Flexibility to work evening shifts including weekends and holidays.
