Job Summary

The Sterile Processing Technician II is a certified technician whose areas of responsibilities cover decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards and guidelines. The SP Tech II demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness when working in an indirect patient care department and addressing the request of the customer or provider.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Central Service Technology Course or Equivalent
  • Work Experience: at least one year experience in central sterile processing
  • Hold one of the following certifications or obtain within one year of hire: • CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) • CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) • CBSPD (Certified Blood Bank and Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) • CRM (Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist)

  • Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal, Heavy Public Contact, Bilingual skills preferred
  • Writing: Reports, Legible handwriting, and coherent writing
