Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Position Summary:

The Supplier Development Project Engineer is responsible for managing key supplier work-transfer projects in collaboration with cross-functional internal and external teams. The role supports strategic deflation initiatives, mitigates supply chain risk, facilitates continuous improvement, and helps resolve technical and operational issues with suppliers.

This position monitors supplier performance through scorecards and key performance indicators and supports supplier evaluation and approval in partnership with Procurement and Supply Chain teams.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

  • Position will directly report to the Division Supplier Development Manager.
  • Will interact with cross functional teams; including Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Lean, Program Management, Finance, Procurement, and external suppliers.
  • The role works closely with high-performance, cross-functional teams to align supplier capabilities with business objectives, operational requirements, and customer commitments.

Essential Functions:

  • Work directly with suppliers, including on-site engagement, to support material and part requirements, preferred manufacturing techniques, and production readiness, with emphasis on complex and moderately complex machine parts.
  • Lead key supplier work transfer projects while coordinating internal and external cross-functional teams to increase capacity, improve performance, and mitigate business risk.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic deflation and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to promote collaboration, accountability, and long-term partnership.
  • Establish robust communication processes with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support timely issue resolution and project execution.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to improve supplier efficiency, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Lead and/or support supplier audits to assess production capability, performance, delivery, compliance, and other key business criteria.
  • Collaborate with the business unit to establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on price, quality, delivery, certifications, capability, and compliance with governmental procurement regulations.
  • Investigate and facilitate best-value region sourcing opportunities.
  • Act as a technical engineering expert during work transfers.
  • Demonstrate leadership by engaging suppliers and Parker team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Must be able to travel to support business needs.

Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline, professional level experience of six or more years in manufacturing engineering roles ( aerospace manufacturing experience, particularly with complex and moderately complex machine parts.) , preferably with 1 to 2 years in Supply Chain.

  • Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g. APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.

  • Demonstrated project management capability, including the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to read and interpret technical product drawings. (Example: Blue-Print)

  • Proven ability to promote new ideas, drive positive changes, and lead continuous improvement.

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Access, and ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to understand business practices and supplier performance data.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and processes.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.

  • Thorough knowledge of products, manufacturing processes and technology, information systems, and/or specialty areas, and general business practices.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.

  • Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $106490 to $177635 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
