Your mission

  • Be the go-to voice for our customers and resident quality engineers, driving swift containment and durable fixes.
  • Lead APQP/PPAP to secure approvals for new and revised programs.
  • Translate engineering intent into practical inspection and testing requirements across the plant.
  • Elevate supplier performance—define inspection/testing, product certifications, and process capability; support supplier development initiatives.
  • Own control plans and process capability analysis to improve yield and reduce variation.
  • Report what matters: CP/CPK, PPM, Cost of Quality, and conformance to IATF, Ford Q1, and GM BIQS.
  • Spot issues early using inspection data and charts; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Plan and track internal audits (IATF, BIQS, ISO 14001:2015); verify corrective actions and training completion.
  • Authorize incoming material/part testing and certification before release to production.
  • Coach inspectors and testers; promote interplant collaboration and achievement of site goals.
  • Apply statistical tools and advanced root-cause methods to prevent recurrence.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • 5+ years of quality engineering experience, preferably in automotive.
  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong CMM background may substitute for an engineering degree.
  • Skilled with PC-based applications and statistical software; excellent analytical and organizational ability.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail; effective communicator across customers, peers, and leadership.
  • IATF or other relevant certifications are beneficial but not required.
