Supplier Quality Auditor
Location: Remote – Midwest Candidates Preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serving as a liaison between suppliers and to drive effective continuous improvement in the supply base.
  • Working with internal customers and suppliers to support supplier quality issues and providing technical support for activities related to supplier quality system assessment, performance evaluation, and quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborating with strategic sourcing, auditing, and development groups to understand the capabilities and competencies of suppliers to fulfill quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Assessing and critiquing supplier processes and control documentation to drive improvement in the supplier QMS.
  • Supporting the tracking and reporting of KPIs and other metrics associated with supplier performance.
  • Articulating detailed supplier performance results and trends to appropriate levels of management.
  • Proposing and developing effective quality improvement plans for implementation at suitable suppliers.
  • Maintaining and tracking the completion of supplier action plans.
  • Providing training and problem-solving expertise at sites and supplier locations, as needed.
  • Identifying and executing cost reduction opportunities at suppliers.
  • Transferring lessons learned from the supply base to internal functions for inclusion into next-generation designs.
  • Training, mentoring, and assisting in the development of less experienced engineers.
  • Supporting third-party audits related to supplier quality engineering deliverables.
  • Acting as a single point of contact for strategic business partners and participating in supplier reviews.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for assigned commodities and sharing expertise within the global organization.
  • Acting as a process owner and driving the standardization of SQ-related processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc/B.Eng.) in science, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 3-5 years experience in a highly regulated environment, with direct supplier-facing responsibilities.
  • 4+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or a regulated environment, preferably in medical device, pharma, or automotive sectors.
  • Lead Quality Auditor Qualification (ISO 13485, CFR 820, or comparable standards); active certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of representing the company confidently during travel.
  • Extensive experience working with suppliers, including audit and assessment expertise.
  • Solid understanding of supplier quality systems, risk management tools like FMEA, SPC, and validation programs.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, influence quality performance, and collaborate across teams.
  • ASQ CQE, CMQ, OE, or PE certifications.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with TrackWise and knowledge of US and international medical device regulations.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and statistical process controls.
  • Skills in project management, negotiation, and cross-functional teamwork.
