Job Description:

SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY

The Supplier Quality Engineer I will serve as Abiomed's Quality technical contact for selected suppliers, participate in product/process improvement supplier initiatives, supplier risk mitigation plans and Supplier Quality Engineering internal projects.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Ensuring supplier compliance to all applicable quality system regulations.

  • Ensuring reliable quality of supplier provided direct material and services.

  • Collaborate with supplier engineering, design engineering and quality inspection to ensure that all required supplier quality processes are in place, verified and controlled.

  • Represent QA on Engineering Change Orders, Material Review Boards and other Supplier quality related activities

  • Gather data and report on supplier quality metrics

  • Support supplier audits and associated activities.

  • Support internal- and external quality audits.

  • investigate and review supplier quality related nonconformities; ensure root cause investigations are thorough and corrective / preventive actions implemented and effective.

  • Assist in qualifying new suppliers and defining necessary technical tests/documentation

  • Support the supplier evaluation process when selecting new vendors; Help maintain the ASL and supporting documentation

  • Support timely Supplier Scorecard creations for assigned suppliers

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required; MBA or MS desired

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Strong imitative and eagerness to learn

  • Ability to gain cooperation of others and lead team members

  • Demonstrated critical thinking in fast paced environment

  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently (oral and written)

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Working knowledge of SAP desired

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€51 200,00 - €80 845,00
