    Supplier Quality Engineer


    About the Team:


    As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will support supplier quality activities related to process control, APQP, problem-solving methodologies, and successful quality launches for new or modified products. This role helps ensure internal and external customer requirements are met while maintaining alignment with global quality objectives and corporate standards.


    What you can look forward to as Supplier Quality Engineer:


    + Ensure compliance with automotive quality requirements, customer specifications, ZF standards, and applicable AIAG, VDA, and IATF guidelines.

    + Monitor manufacturing processes and assess product quality, capability, and process adequacy to support successful launches and ongoing production.

    + Develop, maintain, and improve quality documentation, procedures, risk analyses, lessons learned, audit findings, field return data, scrap, rework, and complaint records.

    + Apply core quality tools, including APQP, PPAP, 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, GR&R, and control charts to drive supplier and product quality performance.

    + Support supplier management activities, including tracking external supplier KPIs and ensuring completion of ZF-specified quality deliverables.

    + Lead or support root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, escalation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to protect internal and external customers.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues and maintain productive working relationships.

    + Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, technical specifications, and measurement results while ensuring engineering changes conform to quality standards.


    Your Profile as Supplier Quality Engineer:


    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

    + 3–4 years of relevant experience in quality, manufacturing, supplier quality, or a related field; internship or co-op experience may be considered.

    + Working knowledge of automotive quality systems, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and IATF/VDA requirements.

    + Experience with problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.

    + Familiarity with statistical quality tools such as SPC, MSA, GR&R, and control chart methodologies.

    + Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, manufacturing specifications, and technical quality requirements.

    + Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make effective recommendations within established standards and procedures.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and all levels of the organization.
