Job Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible to manage the Quality process for the Quality department. This will include; track engineering changes, produce PPAP/PSW packages for Customer, present PSW status to management and Customer, Enter data into Customer systems, such as LIONS. The Quality Engineer will also be responsible to assist in investigating quality issues, and following up with suppliers. The position will also involve preparing reports and presentations for management.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Prepare PPAP/PSW packages for Customer
  • Maintain the Customer QPN database for PSW promise dates etc for MSS
  • Manage engineering changes through the quality department.
  • Coordinate APQP for New Programs and Product changes
  • Review and analyze warranty data for the Division.
  • Prepare Management Quality Reviews
  • Analyze quality data for the plant and the product.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues.
  • Develop Corrective and Preventive Action for Customer, Supplier and Production
  • Develop improved processes to ensure quality.
  • IATF Element champion as required
  • May be chosen to be the Quality Systems Management Representative
  • Ensuring that processes needed for quality management system are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Reporting to top management on the performance of the quality management system and any need for improvement.
  • Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Development of Control Plan and PFMEA including Receiving Control Plan
  • Develop and maintain Coil Matrix and Trim Changes
  • Handle all trim related defects (design, manufacturing and quality)
  • Review GCA daily at customer
  • Update and Maintain Internal Inspection Criteria, Quality Alerts, 5-Phase and Clean Points Required
  • JES review, training of supervisor, training of operator, NOAC verification
  • Examine drawings, change orders and specifications, verify completeness and accuracy of data and resolve discrepancies

HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

  • Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.
  • Taking appropriate corrective action when substandard performance is observed.
  • Review and adhere to Chattanooga Seating Systems' health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, policies and forms.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of accredited university/college in engineering, technical or business

Three to five years relative experience in an automotive assembly or manufacturing environment.

Experience in quality and PPAP/PSW submissions to automotive customers

Experience in inspection with strong skills in Quality and Root Cause Analysis

ASQ Certification

Proficient computer skills
