    FLSA: Salaried Exempt

    Summary

    The Supplier Quality Engineer provides leadership and guidance on supplier issues for all TMS USA sites.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers.
    • Act as liaison between suppliers and company leaders determining solutions to any challenges to quality standards.
    • Review, edit, and audit TMS Purchase Specifications and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and correctness. Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure they address design and performance requirements.
    • Create Supplier Quality Control guidelines and protocols.
    • Ensure suppliers adhere to regulations and understand TMS specifications and requirements.
    • Work with suppliers to develop process capability to meet TMS purchase specification requirements.
    • Create and maintain supplier database with records of performance to enhance current supplier scorecard.
    • Create standardized supplier metrics.
    • Create and promote strategies to increase the quality and efficiency of supplied systems and products.
    • Review supplier drawings and communicate discrepancies to suppliers in a timely manner to facilitate conformance with customer requirements.
    • Work with suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues resulting in reduced defect rates.
    • Perform logistics tasks such as communicating and visiting suppliers to notify them of rejections and complaints.
    • Work with Incoming inspection and production to understand impact to product, processes and customer.
    • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to evaluate supplier samples, approve new suppliers, verify new revisions, and implement improvements.
    • Communicate technical specifications and details to suppliers to ensure full understanding of TMS requirements.
    • Visit suppliers to perform Quality Systems audits and ensure manufacturing processes comply with requirements and guidelines.
    • Work with Purchasing and Engineering teams to research, Identify and qualify new suppliers.
    • Train new employees and suppliers on Quality Assurance procedures and protocols.
    • Drive Continuous Improvement and recommendations based upon supplier audits and process reviews.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Bachelor''''s Degree in Engineering
    • 3-5 years quality experience with a supply chain concentration.
    • Strong Engineering, Operations and Quality experience to resolve complex supplier problems.
    • Manufacturing and Machining industry experience preferred.
    • Must be a self- starter willing to travel up to 35% of the time.
    • Extremely well-organized with superior attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask, work in a high paced environment and meet deadlines.
