Supplier Quality Engineering Lead – Robotics & Automation

A day in this role

You start the morning reviewing supplier dashboards and KPIs, spotting a trend in a critical component used by our AI-driven robotic platform. By lunch, you’re on a call with a contract manufacturer, guiding an 8D through root cause analysis for a SCAR. In the afternoon, you collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and External Manufacturing to qualify a new supplier, aligning control plans and PPAP evidence. You close the day by planning a process audit and mapping Lean improvements that prevent defects before they happen.

Impact you will have

• Serve as the primary quality point-of-contact for designated suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Execute and manage quality activities to ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., supplier audits), and deliver periodic performance updates via dashboards and KPIs.
• Lead SCARs, validate rigorous root cause analysis, and confirm effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, and External Manufacturing to evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
• Champion continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Quality organization

We guide products from development to production by working hand-in-hand with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Test. Our scope spans product, site, manufacturing, and supplier quality. From prototype through production, we emphasize quality planning, defect prevention, process validation, and data-driven continuous improvement—so launches are reliable and systems perform consistently.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred; relevant professional experience required.
• 5+ years in supplier quality engineering within a regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Fluency with quality tools and methods: FMEA, DOE, MSA/GRR, 8D, and more.
• Hands-on experience with Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAP (or equivalent part approval processes).
• Solid engineering fundamentals with the judgment to identify critical control points.
• Analytical toolkit including SAA, Minitab, JMP, and advanced Excel for data organization and analysis.
• Exceptional communication, quantitative, and analytical skills—turning insights into decisions.
• CQE and Six Sigma Black Belt preferred (must demonstrate deep core knowledge).
• ISO 9001 or AS9100 auditor certification (current or previous) preferred.

Work environment and travel

• Up to 25% domestic and international travel; valid driver’s license required, and ability to drive and/or fly to supplier locations.
• Employees are responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally for bi-weekly reimbursement.
