Supply Chain Category Manager

Duties: Collaborate extensively with Engineering and Manufacturing departments to orchestrate sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of both new and established electronic and electro-mechanical components. Focus on assemblies, engineering services and production line testing to meet the demands of New Product Innovation initiatives while adhering to manufacturing schedules and cost objectives. Play an integral role within ASSA ABLOY Americas Supply Chain Team, actively working to drive operational excellence. Spearhead the identification, selection, and qualification of suppliers in alignment with ASSA ABLOY's strategic vision, tailored for the needs of product development and engineering within the organization. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of suppliers, analyzing their capabilities across quality, technology, service, cost competitiveness, capacity, financial robustness, flexibility and commitment. Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and terms, while executing master purchase level agreements. Craft strategic sourcing initiatives, spearheading the advancement of the electronics supply category within the network. Act as Project Manager, collaborating with various teams across the organization to ensure strategy execution alignment. Proactively anticipate product development requirements while optimizing sourcing timelines and material procurement cycles.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering Management, Electrical Engineering, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management or related field of study, and 3 years of experience in any job title/occupation/position involving planning and buying of electronic components. Experience specified must include 3 years of experience with each of the following: managing electronic commodity; MS Excel for data manipulation using formulas, functions and charts creation; analyzing large data set using Excel; quantifying and evaluating manufacturing processes and technologies to ensure "best cost" solutions for purchased components and new product cost parameters; negotiating Master Level Agreements; managing electronic vendor contracts; electrical circuit design process, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout design, component packaging and raw PCB suppliers; working with multiple levels of management and cross-functional teams; NPD (New Project Development) project management and new suppliers onboarding; and ERP system. Requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.
