Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between Production, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Suppliers to identify and resolve material-related issues that impact manufacturing operations. This role is highly visible on the production floor and is responsible for proactively identifying shortages, supply chain disruptions, inventory discrepancies, and process issues, then coordinating cross-functional teams to drive timely resolution. The Supply Chain Coordinator attends daily production meetings, communicates supply risks, and ensures actions are executed to support production schedules and customer commitments.
Requirements
Job Duties:
- Attend daily production meetings and represent Supply Chain in discussions regarding material availability, shortages, and schedule risks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Production, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Engineering, and Quality for material-related concerns.
- Monitor manufacturing operations to identify supply chain issues that could impact production schedules.
- Investigate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, missing components, and transaction errors.
- Coordinate corrective actions with the appropriate departments to restore material availability and maintain production flow.
- Track and report open supply chain issues, ensuring action items are completed within established timelines.
- Escalate critical material risks and production constraints to management when necessary.
- Support buyers and planners by communicating production priorities and expediting critical materials.
- Assist with inventory accuracy initiatives, including material reconciliation and cycle count investigations.
- Maintain accurate records of shortages, corrective actions, and issue resolution activities within company systems.
- Generate and distribute reports related to material availability, shortages, and production support activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing material disruptions and improving operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, production planning, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate activities across multiple departments.
- Must be able to work on-site five days per week and regularly support production floor operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
