Job Summary (Solution Architect)
- Analyze business problems and articulate technology solutions aligned with customer's broader technology architecture.
- Design and implement end-to-end IT solutions, especially for supply chain, logistics, and warehouse management systems.
- Develop and maintain system architecture vision, roadmaps, reference architecture, standards, governance, and reusable design patterns.
- Lead architectural design reviews and guide build-vs-buy decisions.
- Architect and integrate solutions across multiple platforms (WMS, WCS/WES, TMS, ERP, IBM iSeries/AS400, SAP S/4HANA, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Oversee integration patterns including APIs, middleware, EDI, event messaging, file exchange, and partner connectivity.
- Provide leadership for warehouse automation and robotics projects (including ASRS, AMR, PLC, AutoStore, etc.).
- Ensure reliable data flow, maintain integration frameworks, documentation, and data dictionaries.
- Drive operational readiness, quality, security controls, disaster recovery, and incident/problem management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, IT, vendors, executives) and communicate effectively.
- Identify opportunities for automation, analytics, AI/ML, workflow improvements, and technical debt reduction.
- Mentor and coach team members, foster a culture of learning, and stay current on technology trends.
- Support compliance, security, and change management initiatives.
- Take ownership of project milestones, planning, resource scheduling, and decision-making for project outcomes.
Education, Experience, and Technical Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years in IT with significant solution design and architectural leadership experience.
- Proficiency in programming/web/data technologies (e.g., RPGILE, COBOL, DB2, SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS).
- Experience with real-time data streaming, event-driven architectures, and cloud-integration.
- Background in supply chain, warehouse, logistics, and manufacturing technologies.
- Proven record of delivering major enterprise systems and modernizing legacy environments.
- Familiarity with IBM iSeries/AS400, SAP S/4HANA, Google Cloud, EDI, APIs, CI/CD, and related platforms.
- Experience with documentation tools (Jira, Confluence, Office 365, Visio).
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
