Position Summary
This position is located in Westlake, OH
The Supply Chain Logistics Analyst is responsible for preparing freight quotes, validating carrier invoices, and ensuring accurate and timely accruals to support financial integrity. This role analyzes transportation data, identifies discrepancies, and partners with carriers and internal teams to resolve issues. By maintaining precise cost records and improving quote-to-invoice accuracy, the analyst helps optimize overall supply chain performance.
Essential Job Functions
Review freight quote queue and work with carriers to provide accurate and timely pricing to internal customers. Work closely with the pricing team to validate and maintain accurate freight cost data for new business opportunities.
Review freight invoices for accuracy and verify all charges using invoice‑processing tools in JD Edwards before approving payment. Collaborate with carriers to resolve discrepancies and ensure all invoices are processed and paid within established terms.
Work with Fourth-Party Logistics (4PL) providers and carriers on rejected invoices to correct any errors and ensure the correct parties are being invoiced for freight charges.
Analyze all shipments with missing accruals on a weekly basis and provide Finance with the estimated charges for each shipment. Work with internal key stakeholders to improve processes to reduce the number of missing accruals.
Review all accessorial charges to understand the root cause of these charges. Work with internal stakeholders to reduce the spend on controllable accessorial charges.
Qualifications
Education
Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred but not required, Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management preferred
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain or a related administrative operations role.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of freight invoices and related documents.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.), Outlook, and general reporting tools.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with logistics partners, internal teams, and cross-functional departments.
Capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to support process improvements and align behavior with company core values.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with JD Edwards and/or Salesforce CRM
Experience working with 4PL Providers / Freight Forwarders
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
Ability to move about the office to access files, office equipment, or attend meetings.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 10-20 pounds occasionally (e.g., files, office supplies).
Visual acuity to view a computer screen and read documents for prolonged periods.
Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via written correspondence.
