Job Description:

Position Overview

 

The Operations Planning Manager is responsible for maintaining the balance between customer demand and operation’s capabilities.  Sets up and strives to improve systems for future Raleigh state to include increased volume and equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support Lead Team objectives such as Safety, Quality, Cost, Engagement and EBITDA.
  • Responsibilities include establishing the overall replenishment plan, tracking forecast accuracy, defining inventory and safety stock standards, and on-time-in-full-no-errors (OTIF) performance measurement and communication.
  • Responsible for leading, coaching and developing our scheduling and logistical teams.
  • Responsible for enhancing safety standards, procedures and culture for our logistical and warehouse team.
  • Tracking, ordering and optimizing finished goods and raw material inventories, efficiently scheduling Raleigh production demands for a 7-day continuous operation.
  • Manage offsite warehouse and logistics between plant and warehouse.
  • Responsible for raw material planning for yearly budget cycle.
  • Competitive environment demands are increasing as customers expect higher levels of performance and because business volumes fluctuate.
  • Customer’s drive for reduced lead times.
  • Balancing the needs of the facility vs. needs of the customer.
  • Manages results through others and effective personal productivity.
  • Managing order requirements through an outside sales organization and offsite customer service organization.
  • Meeting customer needs while maintaining an efficient process.
  • Responsible for maintaining the balance between customer demands and operational capabilities.
  • Set up systems for future Raleigh state to include increased volume and equipment.
  • Other job duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Skills and Competencies

  • Process Management, Action oriented, Drive for Results, managing systems, planning, developing direct reports, problem solving, priority setting, and managerial courage.
  • Communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate in company systems (SAP), Share Point, Microsoft Office applications.
  • Problem solving skills as well as initiating and managing change.
  • Ability to motivate, train and delegate responsibility and ability to lead, build consensus and work within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with the SQF Code.
  • This person should be familiar with appropriate measurements relating to safety, production, quality, materials, inventory, and financial reports to accurately assess the operations and track improvements.
  • This person should be results oriented and promote a winning attitude toward customer satisfaction, operational excellence and people development.

Education and/or Experience Requirements (Qualifications)

  • Four-year degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Paper Science, or related field and/or equivalent experience. 
  • Two to five years of relevant experience as a leader in operations planning.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • The team member is required to be able to perform the above tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to accurately observe correct paths of travel and areas for product placement.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange information with teammates.
  • Must be able to operate office equipment including desktop computers, handheld devices, photocopiers, scanners, facsimile machines, and voicemail systems.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts to meet production support needs.
  • Sit 5-8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, squat, climb, reach, grasp, grip, carry, and maneuver around an office and the production floor.
  • Must be able to work on manufacturing production floor and able to wear all required safety equipment.
