Purpose of the job / Position description

• To lead the end-to-end supply chain for the Medical BU across Windsor Locks, Mundra and Pont-Audemer, ensuring reliable, responsive and cost-effective supply in support of BU growth and customer commitments.
• To translate commercial priorities and demand outlook into an integrated BU supply plan, aligning capacity, materials, inventory, production priorities and logistics across the three sites.
• To own and continuously strengthen the Medical BU S&OP process, providing clear visibility of demand, supply constraints, service risks, inventory and required decisions.
• To connect the Commercial team with plant Operations, Customer Service and local Logistics and Supply Chain teams, ensuring one aligned view of priorities, commitments and recovery actions.
• To anticipate and mitigate cross-site supply chain risks, balancing customer service, working capital, capacity utilization and cost-to-serve while meeting Medical-grade quality and compliance requirements.
• To establish consistent BU-wide governance, performance routines and continuous improvement priorities that strengthen OTIF, shorten lead times, optimize inventory and reduce avoidable premium freight.

Main responsibilities

• To own the Medical BU end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution across Windsor Locks, Mundra and Pont-Audemer, aligned with BU objectives and customer requirements.
• To lead the BU S&OP process, integrating commercial forecasts, order book, new business opportunities, product launches, capacity, material availability, inventory and logistics constraints into one actionable plan.
• To partner closely with the Commercial team to improve forecast quality, understand customer priorities and translate market and account requirements into feasible supply scenarios and reliable commitments.
• To work with Plant Managers and site Operations teams to align production priorities, capacity allocation, campaign planning, material readiness and recovery plans across the three sites.
• To coordinate with site Customer Service teams to ensure consistent order management, proactive customer communication and timely escalation of service risks, delays and specification-related issues.
• To collaborate with local Logistics and Supply Chain teams on production planning, warehousing, transport, intercompany flows, external converters and supplier readiness.
• To optimize inventory across raw materials, work in progress, semi-finished and finished goods, balancing service, working capital, shelf-life, quality and operational constraints.
• To lead BU-level allocation and prioritization decisions when demand, materials or capacity are constrained, ensuring transparent criteria and alignment with the Medical BU Vice President and relevant stakeholders.
• To proactively identify supply chain risks and establish contingency and business continuity plans for critical materials, assets, converters, transport lanes and cross-site dependencies.
• To define, monitor and communicate BU supply chain performance, including OTIF, service level, backlog, forecast accuracy, lead time, inventory, slow-moving stock, premium freight and cost-to-serve.
• To lead root-cause analysis and cross-functional improvement plans for recurring service, planning, inventory and logistics issues, ensuring clear ownership and sustainable corrective actions.
• To establish common supply chain processes, planning routines, data standards and digital tools across the Medical BU, while respecting local operational requirements.
• To support new product introductions, customer qualifications and strategic growth projects by ensuring supply chain readiness, scalable flows and robust launch plans.
• To provide functional leadership, coaching and direction to site supply chain organizations, fostering collaboration, accountability and best-practice sharing across geographies.
• To ensure Medical BU supply chain activities comply with applicable safety, quality, regulatory, trade and internal control requirements.

Education, qualifications and skills required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Significant experience in supply chain leadership within an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably with multi-site, international or business unit responsibility.
• Strong expertise in S&OP, demand and supply planning, production planning, inventory management, logistics, customer service and supply chain performance management.
• Demonstrated ability to translate commercial requirements into executable supply plans and to manage trade-offs across service, capacity, working capital and cost.
• Experience leading cross-functional and cross-site teams in a matrix organization, with strong influencing, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to use data to identify risks, define scenarios, make decisions and drive measurable improvement.
• Customer-oriented and business-minded approach, with sensitivity to high-service, quality-critical and regulated Medical applications.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear, fact-based recommendations and escalate decisions appropriately.
• Proficiency with ERP, planning and reporting tools; experience with SAP and S&OP or advanced planning systems is preferred.
• Fluency in English; additional language capabilities are an advantage.
• Availability to travel regularly to Mundra and Pont-Audemer and to other relevant locations, approximately 25-30%.
