The DEME Group warehouse is part of the Distribution Logistics (DL) department, within the broader DEME Procurement organization. The warehouse's core responsibilities include the timely and accurate receipt and registration of incoming goods, as well as the preparation of outbound shipments via road transport, air freight, or container shipping. Additional activities involve handling returns, managing hazardous materials, and processing goods with customs status.
Our customers are primarily internal stakeholders, including vessels, projects, and employees located worldwide.
The warehouse team consists of approximately 15 operational staff members and around 5 warehouse officers. The warehouse officers are responsible for coordinating both inbound goods (receiving) and outbound shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient logistics operations.
As a Warehouse Officer, you are responsible for the accurate administrative handling and coordination of parcel flows within our distribution warehouse, contributing to an efficient and reliable logistics process
Primary Tasks and responsibilities
-Manage pre-receiving and receiving processes (accuracy, priorities, lead times, safety), including handling non-conformities, urgent deliveries, packaging quality, and document flow.
-Coordinate and monitor transit goods, including procedures, inspections, and proper identification.
-Supervise parcel put-away activities, ensure weekly cleanup and corrections, and maintain warehouse order and cleanliness.
-Perform stock management tasks, including inventory checks, processing, and reporting.
-Handle non-conformities administratively, ensuring proper registration, root-cause follow-up, and communication with stakeholders across the supply chain.
-Process returns administration, ensuring compliance with procedures, quality checks, and follow-up actions (repair, storage, etc.).
-Manage communication and continuous improvement, act as contact point for internal stakeholders, support process optimization, and ensure safe, organized warehouse operations.
Technical profile requirements
-You have a few years of experience in the logistics world, preferrable with multi-modal means of transport (air, road, sea);
-You have proper knowledge of legislation relating road, air or maritime transport;
-You have basic knowledge of customs regulations;
-Knowledge of regulations on dangerous goods is of added value;
-You like administration and are accurate
-Communication with stakeholders by mail and phone
-You strive for structure and planning in an everchanging maritime environment
-You are solution- driven, stress proof and providing service is a second nature
-You are fluent in Dutch (C2) and English.
-Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (MAXIMO knowledge is a plus).

-Strong negotiation abilities, with a communicative, analytical, and results-oriented approach.
-Collaborative mindset with a hands-on mentality.
-Project management capabilities are required.
Language proficiencies
-Fluent speaking and writing English, proficiency in other languages is a major plus.
