About the Job

General Summary of Position The incumbent in this position will be required to support, maintain, and distribute inventory to par locations of medical supplies and equipment to nursing units and other user areas as assigned to fill electronic and manual requisitions. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospitals philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain accurate product needs, inventories, and replenishes supplies located on the nursing units and other user areas based on par levels established.
  • Responsible for general maintenance of Par Locations, including accurate and up-to-date labels, identify demand changes, and any activity essential to maintaining an accurate and clean area of supplies.
  • Recognize and communicate changes of supply needs and report recommendations to supervisor for investigation, adapt to such change, and support the need accordingly.
  • Processes all supply requests that are not automated via the Order Entry System for supplemental inventory needed to replenish an area in which they are assigned, including open shelf par cart and supplemental Pxyis supplies based on unit needs.
  • Delivers medical equipment and supplies to and from usage areas as assigned.
  • Conducts physical inventory of their assigned areas on a routine basis established by their Supervisor to maintain accurate data within the Pxyis and open Par Carts.
  • Works with the Storeroom Staff when called upon on the needs of the Materials Management Department, including yearly inventory, waiting on customers, and data entry associated with it when necessary and general maintenance of the storeroom.
  • Maintains accurate daily paper and electronic records on all transactions within the Storeroom and Pxyis. This includes verifying order accuracy and reporting discrepancies as well as documenting any storeroom or Pxyis activity.
  • Cleans, maintains, and delivers medical equipment and its storage areas following established procedures.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, including all areas of the Department as assigned, including break area, supply storeroom, Pxyis, and par locations.

Minimal Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required or the equivalent (GED).
  • Experience: 1-2 years Warehouse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have the ability to adapt to a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to adapt to change and have problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to perform mathematical functions and have the ability to read.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.

Compensation

This position has a hiring range of USD $20.74 - USD $20.74 /Hr.
