Job Summary:
The General Supply Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, and stock items. This position ensures accurate inventory records, timely distribution of supplies, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming supplies and materials against purchase orders and delivery documents.
  • Store supplies in designated locations and maintain an organized stockroom or warehouse.
  • Issue supplies and equipment to authorized personnel and departments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in maintaining adequate stock quantities.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or computerized inventory systems.
  • Prepare reports on inventory status, stock movements, and supply usage.
  • Assist with ordering and replenishing stock as needed.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors, procurement staff, and department personnel regarding supply needs.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in inventory management or logistics is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, supply management, or clerical work preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management principles and stock control procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with inventory management software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Ability to lift and move supplies and materials when required.
