Job Title: Supply Clerk
Position Type: Contract (4+ Months)
Location: Salem, VA 24153
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Job Summary:
  • We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Supply Clerk to support warehouse and materials management operations. This role is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, staging, and distributing inventory while ensuring accurate documentation and proper stock rotation. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy against vendor documentation.
  • Verify product quantities and condition and date-stamp materials before storage.
  • Report discrepancies, damaged shipments, or documentation issues to the receiving team.
  • Identify and report short-dated inventory (less than 30 days of shelf life) to the Lean Supply Supervisor.
  • Store inventory in designated warehouse locations while maintaining proper stock rotation based on receipt and expiration dates.
  • Stage and deliver inventory from the warehouse to designated laboratory departments.
  • Assist with warehouse cycle counts and inventory control activities.
  • Prepare and package outbound shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, compliance, OSHA, CLIA, Human Resources, and Materials Management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of materials management, warehouse, or inventory experience.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Good verbal communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment.
 
Work Environment:
  • Warehouse and laboratory support environment.
  • Requires frequent lifting, moving, and staging of materials.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and material handling throughout the workday.
