Overview:
Drodex is recruiting a Supply Technician to support the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), in Washington, DC.
Although the labor category is Supply Technician, this role will primarily support mailroom operations, supply room management, inventory control, property accountability, local transportation, and event logistics. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, customer-service oriented, and comfortable supporting day-to-day operational needs in a federal office environment.
This position requires someone who can manage supplies, process and distribute mail, maintain accurate records, operate government vehicles, and support ASPR events as needed. The role is hands-on and requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with government personnel and customers.

Travel: Routine local travel to ASPR facility in Frederick, MD, as needed

Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations of the ASPR supply room and mailroom.
- Receive, process, sort, and distribute incoming unclassified and accountable mail.
- Maintain logs and records for accountable mail and supply transactions.
- Manage inventory for a government supply room containing approximately $100,000 in consumable and durable supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels are available.
- Receive, store, label, rotate, and issue supplies to customers.
- Process supply requests using government-approved automated systems.
- Identify excess, damaged, expired, or outdated stock and initiate appropriate disposition actions.
- Conduct and support physical inventories of accountable property.
- Reconcile property records with inventory records to ensure accuracy.
- Research and resolve discrepancies using hand receipts, transaction records, automated reports, and acquisition documents.
- Coordinate with hand receipt holders and responsible officials to resolve property or inventory issues.
- Operate government-owned or leased vehicles under 10,000 GVW in support of mission requirements.
- Maintain accurate trip logs and vehicle usage records.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Report accidents, incidents, vehicle malfunctions, discrepancies, and facility issues in accordance with government procedures.
- Maintain supply and mailroom areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Comply with applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
- Provide support for up to 20 ASPR special events annually, including occasional support outside normal duty hours.
- Assist with movement of personnel, supplies, and equipment within ASPR facilities.
- Perform routine local travel to the ASPR facility in Frederick, Maryland, as required.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
- Associate degree in supply management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in supply management, logistics, mailroom operations, inventory control, property management, warehouse support, facilities support, or a related operational role.
- Knowledge of standard asset management principles, accountable property management, inventory control, or supply room operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using database systems or automated tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with government personnel, customers, and internal team members.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform duties that require standing, walking, bending, stretching, and climbing.
- Valid, unrestricted state driver's license.
- Safe driving record, verified by a current Motor Vehicle Record and signed self-certification of driving history.
Required Clearance:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (Public Trust) security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- Prior experience supporting a federal agency, government contractor, mailroom, supply room, warehouse, logistics, or facilities team.
- Experience maintaining inventory records, accountable property logs, hand receipts, or supply request documentation.
- Customer-service mindset and ability to support multiple internal stakeholders.
- Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working in a mission-driven government environment.
