As an ST&S graduate, you’ll complete three rotations designed to give you breadth of experience across your chosen business area while also supporting you to build technical depth. About the Origination track within the ST&S graduate program

ST&S is bp's face to the traded markets in oil, natural gas, power, chemicals, renewables and finance. ST&S's role is to improve bp value through distinctive supply, commodity trading, risk management and technology skills. This is underpinned by outstanding analytics, finance, control and compliance infrastructure. ST&S has a dynamic and highly skilled workforce, which builds value by combining analysis and commercial innovation with the material asset base of bp.

As an Origination Graduate, you will work alongside experienced commercial professionals to develop energy solutions for customers across wholesale natural gas, power and natural gas liquids.  Help us achieve these goals by:

Every year, bp invests billions of dollars searching for new sources of energy, supplying our customers with the energy they need. We want candidates to be developed and highly skilled to propose new and creative ways to maximize value. There are many commercial teams responsible for building and maintaining key relationships, developing unique commodity solutions to address bp’s and our customers’ business needs creating additional value for our trading business. We invest in our Graduates through structured rotational experiences to build exposure to customer engagement, commercial strategy, deal structuring, and market fundamentals helping them develop into future Origination professionals.  Our rotations include natural gas and power origination, structured products, and trading operations.

Areas of exposure can include, but are not limited to:

• Market fundamentals, physical operations, finance and risk
• Ad hoc initiatives, problem solving and/or projects
• Commercial negotiation and relationship management
• Deal structuring, valuation and analysis
• Cross-functional project work and strategic initiatives
• High Pressure to generate revenue while staying within compliance and regulatory guidelines
• Contract development, execution and deal lifecycle management

Minimum Requirements:

• Working toward Bachelor’s degree
• Graduating between December 2026 and May 2027 
• Current Cumulative GPA Minimum 3.0
• Eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions (bp will not support U.S. Immigration sponsorship for full-time or long-term employment)
• Must be available to start on agreed upon global program start date (June 21, 2027).
