Plans, delegates to, and organizes nursing personnel. Manages and coordinates information between patient, family and healthcare team members; provides for education of patients families and staff and evaluates outcomes. The Support Nurse is responsible for providing individualized nursing care to patients and supporting staff RNs with clinical skills and patient care tasks. At the direction of the Administrative Nursing Supervisor they collaborate with the care team to facilitate patient flow and throughput, including admissions, transfers, and discharges. The role requires flexibility to adapt to assignments related to emergencies, staff relief, lunch breaks, and rounding.\n \nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n\n Education: See Licensure/Certification/Registration requirements.\n Experience: Minimum three (3) years recent step down / intermediate care/Cardiac Care, or ICU nursing experience.\n Licensure/Registration/Certification: Current license in Minnesota to practice as Registered Nurse. Current ACLS certification or ability to achieve it prior to the end of orientation. Successful completion of orientation to include assigned ECG and Critical Care modules as determined by Nurse Manager and Critical Care Educator. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.\n \nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\n Education: N/A\n Experience: Preference given to individuals with previous Critical Care nursing experience.\n Licensure/Registration/Certification: Preference given to candidates with PALS, and TNCC certification or equivalent.
