The South Dakota State University (SDState) IT Support Desk is growing, and we need a position to provide service to the Sioux Falls Metro Center primarily. This position is located in Sioux Falls, SD.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide advanced computer support activities and support projects to ensure clients computers are functional and performing efficiently. This includes, but is not limited to, computer labs, equipment, classrooms, simulation rooms etc. This position primarily supports Sioux Falls locations with remote and in person support to other locations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • A wide variety of computer software, hardware, telephony and peripherals.
  • University IT Security standards and incorporate that knowledge in the support process.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills to assist and respond to questions from users with a range of technical understanding from very limited to advanced.
  • In depth hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Installing operating systems and software.
  • Industry standards such as ITIL (information technology infrastructure library), ITSM (information technology service management)

Skill & Ability to:

  • Diagnose and resolve workstation, laptop and network problems.
  • Operate a variety of software applications.
  • Establish effective working relationships.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, staff, faculty and visitors
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Identify areas for professional growth and learn new skills

Required License: Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
