Supported Employment Manager

Position Summary

The Supported Employment Manager provides leadership and oversight for JEVS hireAbility’s Supported Employment and Pre-Employment Transition Services programs in New Jersey. This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day program operations, supporting high-quality service delivery, developing staff, and ensuring programs achieve strong employment and participant outcomes.

The Supported Employment Manager will champion an Employment First approach and build strong relationships with individuals with disabilities, employers, community partners, provider agencies, and other stakeholders. The Manager will work closely with program leadership to establish goals, monitor performance, identify opportunities for growth, and continuously improve program quality and outcomes.

This role provides direct supervision to Community Employment Specialists and Lead Community Employment Specialists and plays an important role in fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Operations

• Lead the day-to-day operations of Supported Employment, Pre-Employment Transition Services, and other assigned programs.
• Champion Employment First principles and promote competitive, integrated employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
• Establish and monitor program goals, objectives, and performance measures in collaboration with leadership.
• Coordinate staffing and resources to effectively meet participant, program, and funder needs.
• Identify opportunities for program growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Stay informed of changes in the disability employment field, funding environment, regulations, and best practices.

Staff Leadership & Development

• Supervise, coach, and develop Community Employment Specialists and Lead Community Employment Specialists.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, creativity, continuous learning, and professional growth.
• Provide training and professional development opportunities to strengthen staff knowledge, skills, and service delivery.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and other employee relations activities in partnership with Human Resources and program leadership.
• Promote effective communication, conflict resolution, and positive team relationships.

Program Quality & Compliance

• Ensure program data is accurate, complete, and entered within required timelines.
• Monitor program performance and use data to identify trends, address challenges, and improve outcomes.
• Ensure required reports are completed accurately and submitted on time to funders and internal departments.
• Monitor staff compliance with required training and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Ensure adherence to funder requirements, organizational policies, and applicable union contract provisions.
• Promote high standards of customer service and participant satisfaction.

Employer & Community Partnerships

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers, community organizations, provider agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Expand employer networks and identify opportunities that increase competitive, integrated employment for job seekers with disabilities.
• Collaborate with other JEVS programs and community partners to strengthen employment services and outcomes.
• Represent JEVS hireAbility in relevant professional networks, associations, and community activities.

Fiscal & Performance Management

• Monitor program billing, accounts receivable, and other financial indicators to support fiscal stability.
• Ensure billing information is entered accurately and within required timelines.
• Assist with budget development and monitor financial performance against established goals.
• Prepare and provide timely operational and financial reports to program leadership.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans when performance or financial goals are not being met.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, behavioral sciences, human resources, or a related field and demonstrated leadership experience in disability employment or a related human services field; or
• A minimum of five years of demonstrated leadership experience in disability employment, including experience with program development and program management.
• Experience supervising, coaching, or developing staff.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or employment services.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to use data and performance measures to monitor program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

The base pay for this position ranges from $58,000 to $69,000 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience. Base pay is one part of th Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
