SUMMARY:
The role manages day-to-day shift operations to ensure effective delivery of security services across Rochester Regional Health facilities. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, performance management, policy enforcement, and quality assurance of incident documentation. The role coordinates emergency responses, provides leadership during critical events, and communicates with department leadership to support organizational goals. This role also ensures readiness of security equipment and fosters a professional, safety-focused team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shift Supervision: Oversee daily security operations, including scheduling, coverage, and ensuring completion of assigned duties.
Safety & Security Oversight: Monitor and maintain the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and hospital facilities while coordinating emergency responses and disaster situations.
Staff Leadership & Training: Evaluate officer performance, administer discipline as needed, and conduct in-service training to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Operational Management: Review reports, maintain accurate property and time records, ensure equipment readiness, and oversee secure transport of valuables.
Communication & Coordination: Provide daily updates to leadership, prepare roll call notes, and address shift issues to support effective team and departmental performance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military, or Security
NYS Security Guard License
Valid NYS Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong interest in safety and security, public safety, or law enforcement.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in high-stress or emergency situations.
Demonstrated interest in security, safety, or law enforcement is preferred.
Ability to guide and motivate team members while setting a professional example.
Maintains honesty and confidentiality; upholds departmental standards in all actions and reports.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
