SURCHEROS is a FRESH, Tex-Mex, fast casual restaurant. We exist to consistently provide superior and flavorful fresh Tex-Mex, kindness,

and prosperity to each guest, each other, and each community we serve. We're on the lookout for dynamic and positive individuals to join our crew as Team Members. A Surcheros Prep Team Member works behind the scenes to prepare fresh ingredients for daily service. Responsibilities include accurate food portioning, following recipes, maintaining strict sanitation standards, and managing inventory rotation. The role is physically active, requiring heavy lifting and safe knife handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Precisely prepare, season, and portion meats, vegetables, and other ingredients according to company recipes.
• Inventory Management: Stock, date, and rotate products. Perform daily stock counts and check product temperatures to ensure freshness.
• Sanitation & Safety: Adhere to HACCP standards and local health codes. Maintain a clean workspace and safely operate kitchen equipment like slicers and knives.
• Kitchen Flexibility: Assist the broader kitchen team, shifting tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly during peak hours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasping, bending, and reaching.
• Capable of moving or lifting 30 to 50 pounds.
• Tolerance for extreme temperatures, such as working in walk-in coolers.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or prep experience is a plus, but not always required.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and HACCP standards.
• A "FRESH" (Friendly, Respectful, Engaging, Supportive, Hardworking) attitude and guest-focused mentality.
