Bond Underwriter - Contract Surety - Pearland, TX

Implement marketing activities and underwrite contract bonds to strategically build a profitable book in a designated territory.

• Facilitate and maintain agency relationships to produce profitable new business.

• Review all new submissions and bond requests, and initiate response.

• Evaluate risk and determine underwriting criteria.

• Determine the necessary forms for a case such as bond forms, riders, statutory, etc.

• Determine rate and other significant issues affecting bond issuance.

• Underwrite contract bonds by appropriately assessing risk presented while adhering to underwriting philosophy.

• Review contract documents, identify onerous clauses, and address each.

• Fully document underwriting files.

• Communicate with agents regarding file needs.

• Communicate clear, complete instructions for bond issuance and invoicing.

• Assist with collections when necessary.
