Surface Docking Spaceflight Hardware Systems Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Surface Docking Spaceflight Hardware Systems Engineer to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. If selected you will: Be responsible for the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plansPrepare materials for the system life cycle phasing, including SRR (System Readiness Review), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)Work with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements, and to help them plan risk responsesPerform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall system design and performanceUtilize a requirements management software and systems engineering tool such as DOORS, Cradle or JamaCreate and manage requirements for various projects – including flow down from NASA Program to contractor Project through verification closeout as well as interface definition between subsystemsWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and raise issuesMaintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractorsPerform other tasks assignedQualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels.
