Job Description

We are seeking a Surface Mount Operator to join our manufacturing team in North Attleboro, MA. The role is responsible for operating and monitoring Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment to assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with work instructions, production schedules, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor SMT equipment used in PCB assembly.
• Set up and operate SMT production equipment.
• Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Follow work instructions, production schedules, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Handle electronic components, including ESD-sensitive components, according to established procedures.
• Operate and monitor reflow ovens as required.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot routine production issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all applicable quality, ESD, and manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with SMT production processes is required.
• Experience with setup, operation, and basic maintenance of SMT equipment is preferred.
• Experience with reflow ovens is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and electronic component markings.
• Basic understanding of electronics manufacturing and PCB assembly.
• Knowledge of ESD handling procedures and quality standards.
• Previous experience in PCB assembly, electronics manufacturing, or related production environments is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional technical or vocational training in electronics or manufacturing is a plus.
