What Youll Do- Provide comprehensive management of adult cardiac surgery patients on the stepdown unit
- Support patients recovering from procedures such as CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgeries
- Conduct daily assessments, including vital signs, wound care, chest tube management, and discharge planning
- Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration
- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Document care using EPIC EMR and Sectra PAC systems
- Assist with managing arrhythmias, electrolyte imbalances, infections, and medication adjustments
What You Need- Valid Missouri RN/APN license or willingness to obtain licensure
- Board certification in nurse practitioner or physician assistant scope of practice
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing cardiac surgery patients, with trauma Level I experience preferred
- Proficiency in managing complex cardiac cases, including pacemakers and post-surgical care
- Strong communication, clinical judgment, and professionalism
