POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Surgery Center Administratoryour roles and responsibilities will include:
The client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Surgery Center Administrator to lead the daily operations of a busy, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical support, business operations, financial performance, regulatory compliance, physician relations, and staff development while ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate has previous ASC leadership experience or hospital surgical services leadership with exposure to ambulatory surgery operations. This individual is business-minded, growth-oriented, and skilled at building strong relationships with physicians, staff, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Develop and manage annual operating, staffing, and capital budgets while monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, CMS, OSHA, and accreditation requirements, including Joint Commission and/or AAAHC standards.
  • Partner with physicians, the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and corporate leadership to support strategic initiatives and operational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong physician relationships while supporting physician recruitment, credentialing, and service line growth.
  • Oversee staffing, workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to quality, patient satisfaction, safety, infection prevention, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchasing activities, and service contracts.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate facility performance reviews and implement action plans to improve operational and financial results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Surgery Center Administrator who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Surgery Center Administrator would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MHA, MBA, or related field) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 5 years of leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital surgical services environment.
  • Previous experience as an ASC Administrator strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial performance, staffing, and facility operations.
  • Strong understanding of CMS regulations, Joint Commission and/or AAAHC accreditation standards, infection control, and healthcare compliance.
  • Proven ability to develop productive physician relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with multi-specialty surgery centers is highly preferred.
