Miller Ophthalmology Associates in Whippany, NJ is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgery Coordinator to join our team! In this vital role, you'll be the key link between patients, surgeons, and medical facilities — ensuring every surgical experience runs smoothly from start to finish. Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate ophthalmic surgical procedures
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients throughout the pre-operative and post-operative process
• Obtain prior authorizations and verify insurance eligibility for surgical procedures
• Communicate with surgical facilities, hospitals, and ASCs to confirm scheduling and patient requirements
• Prepare and manage surgical paperwork, consent forms, and patient records with accuracy
• Educate patients on surgical preparation instructions and answer procedural questions
• Collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, clinical staff, and billing teams to ensure seamless care coordination

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a medical office, surgical coordination, or ophthalmology setting preferred
• Familiarity with insurance authorization processes and medical billing terminology
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient-facing interactions
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical scheduling software
• High level of attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
