Surgery Scheduler / OR Scheduler
Sigma Inc. is currently seeking a Surgery Scheduler / OR Scheduler to support Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston, MA. This is an onsite opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented healthcare professional with previous medical, surgical, or operating room scheduling experience.

Job Summary:
The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling transplant-related surgeries for a team of 7 surgeons. This position will work closely with patients, physicians, surgeons, clinical staff, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure surgical scheduling requests and appointments are handled accurately and in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare scheduling, surgical scheduling, or OR scheduling experience, preferably within a hospital or outpatient healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule transplant-related surgeries for multiple surgeons.
- Manage surgery scheduling requests and ensure appointments are scheduled accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate with patients regarding scheduling, appointments, and related information.
- Coordinate with surgeons, physicians, nurses, clinical teams, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate scheduling information and documentation.
- Review scheduling requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and clinical needs.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and coordinate changes as needed.
- Follow established scheduling procedures, policies, and departmental workflows.
- Provide timely communication and follow-up to patients and clinical teams.
- Support a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare, medical, surgical, or hospital scheduling.
- Experience coordinating appointments or procedures for physicians and/or patients.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple scheduling requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
- Ability to work onsite in Boston, MA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous OR scheduling or surgical scheduling experience.
- Hospital or outpatient healthcare experience.
- Experience scheduling surgeries or procedures for multiple surgeons.
- Experience working with transplant, surgical, specialty care, or procedural departments.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and healthcare scheduling systems.
Important Client Requirement:
Candidates who have previously worked for Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) must have been separated from BILH for at least 6 months and must be in good standing to be considered for this opportunity.
