Surgery Scheduler

Join a busy surgical specialty clinic where you"ll play a key role in ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in through surgery scheduling and follow-up care. This position combines front office support, surgery coordination, insurance verification, and patient scheduling in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and patient eligibility.
• Collect copays and patient balances accurately.
• Check patients in and out and provide exceptional customer service.
• Manage scheduling and documentation through Athena EMR or similar systems.
• Coordinate with providers, facilities, and patients to ensure timely and accurate surgery scheduling.
• Handle incoming calls, patient inquiries, and general front office duties.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in front office and surgery scheduling within a healthcare setting.
• Previous experience in a surgical specialty practice preferred.
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification, patient scheduling, and medical terminology.
• Experience with Athena EMR or similar electronic medical record systems.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, or Mandarin) is a plus.

This is a Contract position based out of Cypress, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
