Job Description
Join a busy colon and rectal care practice as a Surgery Scheduler, where you will play a key role in coordinating surgical procedures and ensuring a seamless experience for patients and providers. In this position, you will schedule surgeries, obtain insurance authorizations, communicate with hospitals and surgery centers, and provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced specialty practice.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures with hospitals, surgery centers, and providers
- Obtain insurance authorizations and verify patient benefits for scheduled procedures
- Coordinate surgery dates, pre-operative testing, and post-operative appointments
- Communicate with patients regarding surgical instructions, preparation, and required documentation
- Maintain accurate scheduling records and ensure all documentation is completed in the electronic medical record
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of surgery scheduling experience in a physician office, specialty practice, or outpatient clinic
- Experience obtaining insurance authorizations and coordinating surgical procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills

In the spirit of transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $35,360–$43,680 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
