    Description

    We are a modern, state of the art outpatient surgery center located in the heart of San Francisco. We are in search of a Surgery Scheduler/Insurance Verification Specialist. 

    Responsibilities

    • Opens the Front Office of the Center before first patient check-ins
    • Welcomes patients, families, physicians, and visitors to the surgery center either in person or over the phone
    • General duties include: pre-registration and registration of patients (i.e. entering insurance and demographic information, consent forms, etc into EMR system)
    • Completing insurance verifications
    • Notifying patients of insurance coverage and copay/coinsurance responsibilities
    • Receiving and directing phone calls, distribution of mail and messages, assisting the business office as necessary
    • Prepare patient documents
    • Accepting and posting payments
    • Work directly with clinical staff members to understand the lengths of procedures, room availability, and needs of special supplies
    • Coordinate schedule with anesthesia group
    • Maintain Front Desk area
    • Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organizations
    • Additional languages preferred
    • Knowledge of EMR systems
    • Knowledge of commercial and private insurance plans
    • Knowledge of Google Suite

    Education and Experience:

    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • 1 year or more experience with insurance verification, preferred
    • 1 year or more experience in a medical office setting, preferred

    Required Licensure and Certification:

    • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification or willing to complete by start date

    Compensation:

    • Salary commensurate with experience
