Responsibilities:
- Schedules all surgical procedures
- Ensures that the needed documentation is obtained for all patients
- Interacts with patients, physicians and other staff both within the ASC and at the physician practice
- Works effectively with the physician practice to manage the surgery schedule
- Monitors and covers staffing for the Business Office
- Follows pathology reports through completion and uploads into patient's file in HST
- Act as a second front desk receptionist by filling in when needed and assuming front desk duties
- Collects co-payments and deductibles as needed
- Records payments in the billing log and uploads to billing system
- Issues receipts for payments received
- Balances upfront collections at the end of the day
- Notifies clinical staff when the patient is ready to proceed to the clinical area
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory levels
- Prepares patient charts for the following day
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
One (1) year of experience, preferably in an Ambulatory Surgery Center
Ability to speak and understand the English language
Strong ethical and moral character references
Basic computer skills
