Purpose
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all surgical procedures & identifying resource (e.g., equipment, people, services) needs to support the daily operations for the Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) “Center.”
Note: “patients” refers to patients, clients, residents, participants, customers, members

Functional Role (not inclusive of titles or advancement career progression)
Responsible for an administrative role to coordinate & facilitate patient care; Schedule outpatient surgeries & procedures; Obtain, add, or update scheduled patient clinical, demographic & financial / insurance information into Center systems; Coordinate / communicate with leadership resource (e.g., equipment, people, services) needs & distribute daily surgical schedule; Participate in quality / operations improvement processes; Track cancellations; Monitor / maintain / release block time; May provide coverage / backup to Center’s business office functions / roles (e.g., Receptionist / Admitting Clerk); Support medical record maintenance / updates & other clerical functions; Provide customer service to patients, families & members of the healthcare team.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Two (2) years surgery scheduling experience.
Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
Associate degree in business.
