About the Opportunity

Lloyd Staffing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator for a busy, high-volume medical practice. This position plays a critical role in coordinating surgical procedures, obtaining authorizations, and ensuring patients are fully prepared for surgery from scheduling through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain insurance authorizations, precertifications, and approvals for surgical procedures.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgeries, including operating room bookings and specialized equipment requests.
  • Schedule patient history and physical examinations (H&P), pre-admission testing, and medical clearances.
  • Review and verify patient insurance information and coverage requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison among providers, nursing staff, operating room personnel, ambulatory surgery centers, and vendor representatives.
  • Maintain and organize surgical scheduling documentation and patient records.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide administrative support as needed.
  • Assist with cross-coverage responsibilities within the ambulatory surgery department.
  • Ensure all surgical cases are coordinated accurately and efficiently while meeting established deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full-time medical office experience.
  • Experience with insurance verification, authorizations, or surgical scheduling preferred.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Professional telephone and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and electronic medical record systems.
