Surgical Environmental Tech I: Operating Room
Responsibilities include:
- Meticulous nightly terminal cleaning of 36 Operating Rooms, increasing to 40 mid June (Pavilion) (Covering 3 buildings; 5 floors)
- The ceiling-to-floor cleaning includes all OR rooms; all Preop; all PACU areas
- Utilize hospital-grade germicidal solutions to all vertical and horizontal surfaces from top to bottom (ceiling to floor)
- Clean and disinfect all surfaces in each room - cords, monitors, electronics, keyboards, screens, surgical lights, kick buckets, mayo stands, linen carts, chairs, dismantling OR beds to clean each section of mattresses
- Return stretchers, IV poles, and monitoring equipment to their designated locations in preparation for the next day's cases.
- Utilize specialty disinfecting equipment, Tru-D robots
- Cleaning and removal of blood, bone fragments, bodily fluids
- Emergency and trauma cleanup throughout hallways and procedural areas during night shift operations
- Cleaning and sanitizing:
- OR and Public Restrooms
- OR Frozen Labs (2 – Main/Onc)
- Staff locker rooms – all buildings – 3 men/3 women
- Physician locker rooms – 1 men/ 1 women
- Physician lounges – 2 buildings / 2 lounges
- Staff lounges – 3 buildings / 4 lounges
- Education; materials mgmt.; admin offices and support spaces
- Floor scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and maintenance throughout all OR’s and periop areas
- Transportation and disposal:
- Clear bag trash
- Biohazard
- Amputees
- Recyclables
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer previous environmental services experience in health care facility or other institution.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and timetables.
- Prefer the basic ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Preferred Education:
HS EQ: High School Diploma or GED
Work Days/Shift/Start Time:
Nights preffered but open
