Responsibilities:
- Provides a full range of cancer care to patients of Legacy Health. Such care is provided in an office, outpatient, or inpatient setting and includes the full and expected mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.
- Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Legacy Hospitals.
- Provides office follow up of cancer patients.
- Provides consultation on various cancer related issues.
- Participates in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs as appropriate for clinical practice.
- Participates on relevant committees as requested.
- Participates in community outreach activities regarding Legacy’s Cancer Services.
- Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Works with adult and elderly/geriatric patients.
- Works with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy Cancer program.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent
- Completion of General Surgery residence
- Board Certified in General Surgery
- Board fellowship in Surgical Oncology or equivalent experience
Licensure:
- Medical License in applicable state.
- BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
- ATLS preferred
