Advanced Practice Provider-Inpatient Surgical OR PRN

Overview:

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgical Team. This role is responsible for assisting in the management of patients across the continuum of care in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative hospital settings. The provider will apply specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in the care of liver and kidney transplant recipients, as well as hepatobiliary patients. The Piedmont Transplant Institute performed more than 300 kidney transplants and 200 liver transplants during the most recent fiscal year, making it one of the leading transplant programs in the region

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the OR, including tasks that support the surgeon and ensure patient safety throughout the operation.
  • Provides direct inpatient clinic services for pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems.
  • Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.
  •  Assists physicians in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.
  • Orders, schedules and/or perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.

Position Details:

  • Inpatient, OR role, including call
  • PRN, needed availability to cover roughly six shifts a month including weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
Qualifications:

Requirements:

Masters, Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification or Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification
