Sterile Processing Technician (SPD/CSSD)
Schedule
- Shift: 2:00 PM 10:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Block scheduling available (must include weekends)
Job Summary
Responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment used throughout the hospital. Ensures compliance with sterilization standards and supports surgical teams by preparing instruments, supplies, and case carts for scheduled procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor and document sterilization processes
- Prepare procedure-specific case carts according to surgeon preference cards
- Maintain inventory levels and manage sterile supplies
- Support Operating Room, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, and other clinical areas
- Ensure instruments, implants, and supplies are available for scheduled procedures
- Receive, stock, and rotate inventory according to sterile supply management guidelines
Requirements
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer proficiency
Assignment Details
- Interview: Phone or Video Interview
- Shift: Afternoon (2:00 PM 10:30 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
