Position Overview

A growing multi-specialty surgical practice is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to coordinate surgical procedures, physician schedules, and patient appointments. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, hospitals, and clinical teams to ensure a seamless surgical experience from scheduling through post-operative care.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgical procedures
  • Coordinate scheduling with providers, hospitals, and patients
  • Verify authorizations, medical clearances, and required documentation
  • Communicate surgical instructions and appointment details to patients
  • Maintain accurate calendars and scheduling records
  • Manage appointment changes and schedule adjustments
  • Track outstanding documentation related to scheduled procedures
  • Support efficient workflow across surgical and clinical teams

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of surgical scheduling experience preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare scheduling processes and medical terminology
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
