St. Luke''s Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a full-time Surgical Scrub Technician to work out of The Villages location! St. Luke's Surgical Center performs multi-subspecialty ophthalmic surgery.

About the Position

Reporting to the OR Supervisor, the surgical scrub technician's role and responsibility is to provide necessary and appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies during surgery with the surgeon, nurses, and staff. To clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with AAMI standards. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.

What do we look for?

Your primary position will be working at the sterile field as a Scrub Technician in a fast-paced environment. We require self-motivated, patient focused individuals with strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with patients, physicians and staff. This associate will need to be available Monday through Friday.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency is required
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a surgical scrub technician in an operating room required
  • Previous Cataract Surgery experience a plus; Experience in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments required
  • Must be mobile in a surgery procedure; walking, sitting, standing, bending and stretching
  • Perform general duties and other functions as required or assigned
