Job Summary

This is a Surgical Services / Certified OR Tech (CST) contract position with a leading academic medical center in Worcester, MA. The role covers a wide range of surgical specialties and requires Level I Trauma experience. Scheduling is based on the needs of the unit, with no block schedules accommodated.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform surgical scrub duties across a broad range of specialty cases including Ortho trauma, Neuro, Vascular, Transplant, Cardiac, Plastics, ENT, General, Pedi, and Trauma
• Support scheduling requirements based on the needs of the unit
• Cover every third weekend and holiday as required
• Utilize Epic for clinical charting
• Fulfill on-call obligations as assigned per unit requirements

Education Requirements

• NBSTSA credentials required (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting CST certification)
• BLS certification required
• Flu vaccination required (Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist / Certified OR Tech
• Level I Trauma experience required candidates without Level I Trauma experience cannot be submitted

Required Skills

• Proficiency in surgical scrub technique across multiple specialty service lines
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Ability to adapt to flexible scheduling based on unit needs
• Availability for every third weekend and holiday coverage
• Ability to meet on-call obligations

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Onsite position at a medical facility in Worcester, MA
• Night shift: 18:45 7:15 (3x12-hour shifts)
• Rotating schedule no block schedules accommodated
• Weekend and holiday rotation required (every third weekend/holiday)
• On-call obligations apply
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required
• Flu vaccination: Required (Medical/Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed)
