Job Summary
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support a variety of surgical procedures in a fast-paced Operating Room environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, infection control standards, and perioperative patient care. Orthopedic experience is strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Civilian or Military Operating Room Technician/Surgical Technician Program
- NBSTSA Certification (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Orthopedic Surgery Experience Strongly Preferred
- Minimum Operating Room experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with surgical instruments, sterile drapes, equipment, and solutions.
- Maintain sterile technique and comply with infection control standards.
- Perform scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties.
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons by holding retractors, cutting sutures, and participating in surgical counts.
- Prepare, handle, and transport specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Assist with surgical dressings and patient positioning.
- Ensure availability and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Prepare and label medications under the direction of the surgeon and RN.
- Assist with patient transfers to and from the operating room and recovery area.
- Support room turnover and restocking between procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and safety.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and continuing education activities.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure quality patient care.
