Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM | On-Call Required
Pay Rate: $36 - $40/ hr (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a high-volume operating room by assisting surgeons and the surgical team across multiple surgical specialties while maintaining a safe, sterile environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the operating room, sterile field, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Assist surgeons and the surgical team by anticipating procedural needs, passing instruments, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with aseptic technique and Universal Protocol (Time Out).
Support surgical procedures across General OR, Bariatric, Vascular, ENT, General Surgery, Breast, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Plastic, Podiatry, Colorectal Robotic, Thoracic, and Urology specialties, including laparoscopic-assisted procedures and the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Perform decontamination and sterilization processes, maintain sharps safety standards, participate in on-call coverage, and ensure quality patient care throughout the surgical process.
Required Qualifications
Current CST certification (required unless the traveler has worked as a Surgical Technologist in New York prior to 2015).
Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience; experience across 12 surgical service lines preferred.
Experience in General OR, Bariatric, Vascular, ENT, General Surgery, Breast, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Plastic, Podiatry, Colorectal Robotic, Thoracic, and Urology procedures, including laparoscopic-assisted procedures, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, aseptic technique, decontamination and sterilization, sharps safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (Time Out).
Ability to participate in on-call rotation (6 shifts per 8-week block, including weekends and holidays).
Preferred Qualifications
Epic experience preferred.
